Pipe Joints Sealant:
As in so many areas of life, in the plumbing industry too, the speed of progress has quickened. New Pipe sealing systems, innovations in application technology, stricter environmental requirements and restrictive legislation, increasing pressure on cost-benefit ratios while maintaining an assurance of high quality - all these set new demands on manufacturing industry. Mayur Paints (India) Pvt. Ltd. has risen to the challenge by developing "Pipeseal PJS-44", a pipe joint sealant based on special polyesters, Pipeseal PJS-44 is a two pack pipe sealant which, because of its High Adhesive Strength and Low density, results in great cost saving. Compared to lead, consumption comes down appreciably, therefore using Pipeseal PJS-44 is most cost effective.
Pipeseal PJS-44 is most environment friendly and has very good Chemical and water resistance.
Ease of use:
Pipeseal PJS-44 is very simple to use as it does not require any heating. Just Mix one pouch (300 Gms. of black component with 200 Gms. of white component and fill in the joint.
The high solid content makes Pipeseal PJS-44 non shrinkable after drying. Instructions for Jointing with PIPESEAL PJS-44
- Open the packet of Black (300 gm) & white (200 gm) Chemical pastes.
- Mix the two pastes well to make a smooth paste. A few (5/6) drops of water may be used if required , to facilitate uniform and homogenous mixing.
- The Hemp Yarn (Rassi/Packing Rope) should be well packed in the joint and should be ready prior to PIPESEAL PJS-44 chemical sealant mixing. The space of 8-10 mm should be left for the chemical sealant (PIPESEAL PJS-44).
- The chemical sealant as made at step (2) above should be applied in the space (8-10 mm) as per step (3) in a uniform manner.
- Any excess sealant outside the socket should be removed and used immediately for other joints.
- The joint has now set in and will harden in 20-40 minutes depending upon the weather conditions.

Lead, being highly toxic is most environment unfriendly and is not being used in advanced countries such as USA, Europe, Japan etc.
